Pride Month begins around the world tomorrow, June 1. Next year will mark the fiftieth anniversary of Stonewall Inn riots, a protest that included Leather people and spoke to the resistance of Leather culture.
Within a year after the raid on the Stonewall Inn on June 28, 1969, protest marches by LGBTQ people evolved into full fledged parades celebrating LGBTQ life. An important tradition in the history of human liberation was born, and it continues stronger than ever today. All along, Leather people have been an integral part of this history. Pride has mobilized many in support of freedom and equality. Leather List operates very much in the spirit of Pride. We support many of the same nonprofit organizations.
Leather List has a ways to go toward its first anniversary next April. That won’t stop us from recognizing Leather’s role in Pride’s history. L L believes it can help make that connection grow closer every day, through Leather Service To Communities.
Leather List’s mission is to mobilize all Leather people in support of their freedom of sexuality, gender & chosen relationship. Leather List will steadily grow to become the unifying force that strengthens Leather people, cultures and traditions – just like Pride
